First construction company in the country to certify its personnel in road safety
Our goal as a company is that our body of heavy load drivers is trained, to promote road safety for the well-being of our employees and society in general. For this reason, we have implemented in our company a program endorsed by the National Safety Council, in which we stand out as the first company in the construction sector to obtain this type of certification.
The program has trained 44 of our collaborators, including from 7 to 8 hours of the workshop, in which common driving situations were addressed such as speed, right of way, driving to the left of the center, adequate approach distance, lane changes, and lane markings, and overtaking safely, among others.
The National Security Council is a non-profit public service organization that promotes health and safety. The NSC Professional Driver Course focuses on the most common causes of truck-related incidents and provides drivers with defensive driving strategies to avoid collisions and traffic violations.
The Road Safety Program consists of a work plan that allowed us to update and build the capacities and abilities of the company's drivers. It enabled us to further professionalize the profile of the drivers at AMCO and strengthen professional development in the area, to achieve better personal and organizational results.
As part of the term of the course, we received a certification that qualified our truck drivers as endorsed by the National Safety Council (NSC), thus enabling them to drive this type of vehicle in up to 157 countries around the world.
For our concrete manager Douglas Sáenz, this type of training is an added value for the collaborators, so they can continue ensuring the quality of our service.
“In the 20 years that AMCO has been in business, we have always been characterized by the quality of all the projects in which we participate; since then, we have trusted that our collaborators are the main executors of the highest standards so that providing them with the opportunity of obtaining a certificate that accredits them is just a way to help us to reinforce that statement”, said Mr. Sáenz.
